How long will it take? Will it hurt?

Your first appointment will take longer than normal as our specialists discuss your medical history and your aesthetic goals before helping you to decide on the best filler. Afterwards, you may expect your technician to go over the process with you, ensuring that you understand and are fully prepared each step of the way.

After your initial consultation and first injection, a maintenance appointment will depend on which areas you are getting touched up but should last no longer than 60 minutes.

Dermal fillers may feel a little odd and the injection itself may sting, but we care about your comfort and safety and will use a topical anesthetic to numb the injection site and help provide you with the most relaxing experience possible.

What is the aftercare procedure?

You may discover some bruising, swelling, or itching at the injection site, but these are all normal and nothing to be concerned about. It is important to keep your hands away from your face for at least 6 hours after your injection. After 6 hours you’re able to use gentle cleansers to wash your face.

To ensure the best outcome of your filler, you should:

• Avoid the sun or other intense heat (such as your tanning bed, or sauna)
• Avoid alcohol and strenuous exercise (for 24 hours)
• Avoid pressure on the treated areas (sleep on your back)
• Avoid any facial procedures that include chemicals, abrasion, or general strain on the skin (such as peels, facials, waxing, and microdermabrasion)

Talk to your specialist if you are experiencing any lingering pain, swelling or bruising, they will be able to give you proper guidance on which medications or alternative actions you can use to alleviate your symptoms.

When will I see results?

Almost immediately! You can usually expect to get up and see a noticeable difference in the mirror, however, results will continue to improve over time and you may find that your new fillers look their absolute best around the 6 to 8 week mark.

How long do fillers last? How often will I need touch ups?

How long your filler will last will depend on the area and type of filler you have opted to use. Some injections may last from 6 to 12 months and others can last up to 5 years.

They can also provide guidance on your specific dermal filler and when you can expect optimal results and, based on their experience, when you may want to consider a touch up.

Are dermal fillers safe? What are the possible side effects?
