Charlotte regenerative anti aging medicine specialist, Dr. Scott helps Greater Charlotte women and men reduce the symptoms of rosacea and give lasting relief from redness with advanced regenerative skin treatments and services.

As anyone living with rosacea can attest, there’s a difference between a healthy glow and an annoying glow. Rosacea affects more than 16 million Americans. Its exact cause is unknown, but it often runs in families and has been linked to defects in the immune, nervous and vascular systems. Without knowing the cause, it’s impossible to prevent rosacea—but you can control the symptoms and reduce the redness.

Laser therapy for rosacea is extremely effective at improving the appearance of rosacea. Most patients experience a 50–75% reduction in visible blood vessels after just one to three treatments. Some patients even experience a 100% reduction. Scott Shapiro, M.D. minimizes rosacea flare-ups and helps you feel good about your skin again.

Laser Rosacea Treatments FAQs

At Scott Shapiro, M.D., we use a cutting-edge laser system to reduce the appearance of rosacea and reveal a more even skin tone. Our advanced device delivers concentrated pulses of light directly to the unwanted blood vessels, causing them to slowly disappear through your body’s natural healing process. This state-of-the-art platform determines the ideal settings for each individual patient, thereby increasing safety and improving results.

Laser rosacea treatments aren’t painful, but you may feel a range of sensations. Patients have described these sensations as a gradual heating or compared them to the snapping of a rubber band.

Laser rosacea treatments are quick, typically taking about 15–30 minutes.

We take the time to develop a customized treatment plan for you that takes into consideration the current condition of your skin, your skin type and your goals. Most patients experience visible results after their first laser rosacea treatment, but you may need between three and six total treatments. Full results are typically seen four to six weeks after the final treatment.

You need to let your skin recover and heal between sessions for best results. We typically recommend scheduling your treatments about four to six weeks apart.

Immediately following laser rosacea treatment, you may experience mild redness due to skin irritation. Your skin also may feel slightly warm or swollen, similar to the feeling you get with a mild sunburn. These side effects are temporary and last a few days at most. Your provider will give you detailed instructions on caring for your skin following treatment.
